Tervetuloa Suomeen!

From August 27 through September 7, the EUMASLI 3 cohort gathered in Helsinki for a final two-week block seminar.

Many of the teachers contributed to a one week module on research methods, culminating in an academic “speed dating” event. Discussions help students to develop their research questions for pilot study projects that will be presented in Antwerp on November 22/23, 2018.

Speed Dating in academic contexts – intense, brief discussions of research questions

Liisa Halkosaari, Jens Heßmann, Jemina Napier, Rachel Rosenstock, Graham Turner, Svenja Wurm, and special guest Myriam Vermeerbergen gave valuable pointers to help students shape their research ideas and develop their projects.

The second half of the block was spent learning about and practicing interpreting between English and International Sign. A boat trip and a picnic at the pet cemetery (yes, you read that right!) rounded out the week.
